Shamawd Chambers is a former professional football player turned high-performance coach, mentor, and entrepreneur. A standout wide receiver, he built an impressive career at Wilfrid Laurier University before being selected in the first round of the CFL Draft. Over several seasons in the CFL, Chambers earned accolades, including the Grey Cup’s Most Valuable Canadian award.
Now, as the founder of Out The Chamber Sports, he is dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes by combining elite-level training with sports marketing and career advancement opportunities. Through OTC, Chambers provides athletes with the tools to enhance their speed, strength, agility, and mental toughness while also fostering personal brand growth and exposure.
In addition to his leadership at OTC, Chambers is a Board of Directors Member, Showcase Host, and Head Coach for the Canadian High School Football Showcase, where he helps evaluate and develop top football talent across the country. He is also the Performance Director for football at Big House Athletics, where he works with athletes to maximize their potential on and off the field.
A passionate educator and speaker, Chambers is committed to sharing his knowledge and experience with athletes at all levels. Whether coaching on the field, speaking at coaching clinics, or mentoring young athletes, he continues to inspire the next wave of talent to chase greatness.

Professional Athlete
CFL Career (2012-2019)
Edmonton Eskimos (2012-2015)
Shamawd Chambers was selected 6th overall by the Edmonton Eskimos in the 2012 CFL Draft.
Demonstrating his readiness for professional play, Chambers quickly secured a starting position as a wide receiver. In his rookie season, he played in 16 regular-season games, starting in a majority of them, and recorded 37 receptions for 390 yards and 2 touchdowns.
His immediate impact led to his nomination as Edmonton's Most Outstanding Rookie for 2012.
Over the next two seasons, Chambers solidified his role within the Eskimos' offense:

2013: Appeared in 17 games, with 42 receptions for 465 yards and 4 touchdowns.

2014: Played in 12 games, contributing 30 receptions for 366 yards and 1 touchdown.
The pinnacle of Chambers' tenure with Edmonton came in 2015. Despite being limited to 5 regular-season games due to injury, he returned for the playoffs, starting in both the West Final and the 103rd Grey Cup. His performance in the championship game was instrumental, earning him the title of Most Valuable Canadian as the Eskimos secured the Grey Cup victory.
Saskatchewan Roughriders (2016)
In 2016, Chambers signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He played in 15 games, starting in several, and recorded 25 receptions for 269 yards and 1 touchdown, averaging 10.8 yards per catch.
Return to Edmonton and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2017-2019)
Chambers briefly returned to the Edmonton Eskimos in 2017, participating in 6 games. He was then acquired by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, where he played 7 games and recorded 32 receptions for 319 yards, with a season-long catch of 42 yards.
NFL Opportunity (2012)
Following his impressive university career, Chambers received an invitation to participate in the Philadelphia Eagles' rookie camp in May 2012. Over the three-day camp, he had the opportunity to showcase his skills alongside other aspiring NFL players. Despite his efforts, Chambers did not secure a contract with the Eagles but gained valuable experience that would propel his professional career forward.
2008-2011
Wilfrid Laurier University
From 2008 to 2011, Shamawd Chambers established himself as one of the premier wide receivers in Canadian university football while playing for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. Over four seasons, he recorded 123 receptions and 15 touchdowns, earning recognition as a three-time OUA All-Star. Known for his explosive speed and playmaking ability, Chambers also made an impact on special teams, receiving FRC-CIS Special Teams Player of the Week honors in 2010.
While pursuing his studies in Laurier’s Faculty of Arts, he balanced academics and athletics, demonstrating the work ethic and leadership that would define his career. His standout performance at Laurier positioned him as one of the top CFL Draft prospects in 2012, attracting attention from both CFL and NFL teams.
